Documentation-based guide

Based on upstream documentation. These steps have not been independently tested in the desktop app; menu labels and behavior may differ by release.

Step by step

  1. Obtain the official CLI

Check the official product page and release assets for a CLI build that matches your platform. A CLI archive is different from the desktop installer.

  2. Read the installed help

Run photocraft-cli --help, then photocraft-cli run --help. Help from the installed binary is the best starting point when documentation for main differs from your release.

  3. Test one command on a copy

Use a small input and a separate output directory. Upstream documents commands such as filter.sharpen.smartSharpen. Verify its parameters in your release before applying it to a folder. The example below is upstream syntax, not a locally tested recipe.

  4. Check before batching

Inspect the output’s format, dimensions, appearance, and layers as applicable. Only then use batch help and a tested action list. Keep the originals outside the output directory.

photocraft-cli --help
photocraft-cli run --help

# Upstream example: verify against your installed release
photocraft-cli run input.psd --cmd filter.sharpen.smartSharpen --params '{"amount":80}' --out output.png
