Documentation-based guide

Based on upstream documentation. These steps have not been independently tested in the desktop app; menu labels and behavior may differ by release.

Step by step

  1. Check the package

Record the application version, your operating system, and CPU architecture. Confirm you downloaded the matching official package and fully extracted a portable archive.

  2. Try a blank session

Try opening the app without a document. If it starts blank but fails on one file, preserve that original and test a small PNG. This helps distinguish launch problems from file-specific problems.

  3. Capture the actual error

When feasible, launch from a terminal and copy the relevant error. GPU or driver issues are possible causes, not a diagnosis. Use your system vendor’s normal update route; avoid downloading random driver bundles.

  4. Report with context

Search upstream issues using the error text. If no matching report helps, prepare a report with the tool below. Remove personal paths and secrets before sharing logs. Do not post a confidential document publicly.
