Move a small workflow from Photoshop

Test a real task before moving your full library or client work.

Documentation-based guide

Based on upstream documentation. These steps have not been independently tested in the desktop app; menu labels and behavior may differ by release.

Step by step

  1. Choose a bounded task

Start with a crop, basic adjustment, or simple layered composition. Avoid making a complex client PSD your first compatibility test. List the operations you need, including any plug-ins or actions.

  2. Work from duplicates

Duplicate the source document. Preserve the Photoshop original and a flattened reference preview so you can compare the visual result independently.

  3. Inspect rather than assume

Check text, fonts, masks, blending, smart objects, and effects. An image can look correct while a layer is no longer editable. Save a separate output and reopen it in the destination app you actually use.

  4. Keep your fallback

Do not assume Photoshop plug-ins, ExtendScript/UXP scripts, or .atn actions run in PhotoCraft. Check the specific feature and version; retain the original workflow for unsupported steps.

Sources and further reading

PhotoCraft is in early alpha. Keep original files and test a copy before relying on it for important work.
